In Silico Enzyme Modification of Dihydrofolate Reductase (DHFR)
Our project is based around mutating the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which helps with DNA synthesis, as well as folate reduction. The main focus of the project was determining the change of two amino acids: Serine 76 to Isoleucine 76 and Lysine 54 to Glutamate 54, which would allow DHFR to bind the cofactor NADH instead of NADPH.
