PROGNOSIS OF GLENOID LABRAL TEARS IN COLLEGIATE AND PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS
In my research my goal was to provide an overview and prognosis of glenoid labral tears in collegiate and professional football players. What I concluded from my research is that football players are at a higher risk than the average person for developing a labral tear, that blocking and tackling positions are at a higher risk for labral tear, that posterior tears are the most common type of labral tear, that re-injury is a high risk especially in those who have had prior labral repair, that return-to-play rates are relatively high post-injury and post-operative, and that surgical intervention provides the best patient outcomes in terms of injury management.
